Well for me nothing special... How nice they skipped the Bowie version of Wild is the Wind by showing pictures of Paris

Nothing really new in that documentary. Maybe i expected too much... I am p...ed off!!!

Wasn't it just live video and backstage stuff to the recordings from the album? Isn't that all the radio broadcasts are too? All of this promotion is starting to feel like a big slap in the face.

I was expecting more too, loved the concert clips, but the "documentary" was a disappointment

Some were complete - some were *very* heavily edited (eg YHBL was just one verse and chorus, as was C&A and quite a few others). From that point of view I found it tantalizing......and as it was on so late I couldn't have it on very loud which I think spoiled it a bit for me. However, I have recorded it and will watch it again at a more suitable volume over the weekend. We all have to hope that a fuller version was created and gets released on blu ray in due course.....
Oh and just to add I found the constant cutting to rich paris people a bit annoying - kept thinking I just want to see and hear George!!

George Michael
Music News

Produced primarily by David Austin and Caroline True, these lifelong friends (his “Valued Destinies”), documented “his Journey to the Opera House”, the pinnacle achievement of his 30 yr career to date and his “coming of age” as an accomplished artist. Caroline True, his tour photographer even persuaded the guardians of the Palais Garnier to allow her to photograph George on its roof, an honour only previously afforded to Grace Kelly. They also took pictures in the auditorium, of him looking “quite Rat Pack in his Armani suit”, languishing against its sinuous marble staircase. These are very stylish shots, “marking the end of the Symphonica tour.... a deliberate celebration of his survival.” Said Caroline in a previous interview

Hi,

The official communique from BBC1 talked about the performed tracks: Through, My Baby Just Cares for Me, A Different Corner, Cowboys and Angels, John & Elvis Are Dead, You've Changed, Going to Town, Brother Can You Spare a Dime, Let Her Down Easy, You've Been Loved, Roxanne, Wild is the Wind, Praying for Time, Feeling Good.

Firstly, we can deplore that these tracks are the same as the Symphonica CD, no specific as Kissing a fool, Father figure, Russian Roulette, Waiting for that day, True faith, White light, tracks that we also hear during this evening. The atmosphere in Garnier during the medley was absolutely fantastic and incredible in such a mythical and historical place !

Secondly, this short documentary (one hour only) shows some “people time” which steal some precious musical moments. Not illogical : I did not see it yet, but this is not a live performance on tv, but a real documentary about and around a specific and unique show.

Same question please : which songs are fully played ?
Pity for Wild without Bowie part… Feeling good is the evening one, or the 2008 one ? More widely, the audio songs are the evening ones, or the CD ones ?
Thanks
