Anyone think that there will be a tribute to George at the Brits this week?
Apparrently George's family did not originally want a tribute at the Grammys unless it was performed by Adele .
Does this mean another tribute by Adele at the Brits or no tribute at all.

David Bowie and George Michael to be honoured at the Brit Awards 2017

This year’s Brit Awards is reportedly set to honour David Bowie, George Michael and late Beatles producer George Martin.

The 2017 awards ceremony will be held on February 22 at London’s O2 Arena. The Brit Awards nominations ceremony will take place tomorrow (January 14)

Last year a special tribute was paid to Bowie at the event with Lorde performing ‘Life On Mars’ in honour of the iconic singer.

Now it has apparently been decided further tributes will be paid to the singer.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “After so many huge losses last year the organisers thought it was only fitting that they paid tribute properly.

“The focus is purely on home-grown stars, specifically David Bowie, George Michael and George Martin, who have all won BRITs in the past.

“It has not been decided yet what form the tribute will take but it’s going to be a tearjerker.

“There won’t be a dry eye in the room.”

I have read in the press what you have said about George's family and Adele. I haven't thought about how this would affect the Brits tribute; but now I can see that you do have a point if the family have specified they they only want Adele to perform.

To be honest, I have been looking forward to the Brits tribute. I found the Grammys tribute amazing and very touching. But I still believe that the Brits can do something very special for George, given the fact that he is loved so much in his country!
I have lived in London in the past and I do remember how often the radio would play his lovely songs. I also remember how his Wembley concert had to be extended for a second show due to huge response from fans.
So, yes, I do hope that George will be duly honoured in his own home... "round here"!!

I have seen this article which confirms that there will be a tribute, without giving further details:

[Edit: My post has been transferred to the correct thread (it was originally in the thread "What really happened") and I can now see that there is a previous post here with exactly the same link - so, I just want to say sorry for sounding repetitive here.]

Whilst we wait for this years Brits I thought you all might enjoy this:

For his duet with Ms Dynamyte, George completely reworked Faith with brand new lyrics and delivered it with a re-enacted Video, I don't know why this isn't on YT/better known as I don't think it ever got released? You'll have to copy & paste this link:

From 2012, I hadn't seen this before, George standing there while Adele flips off being cut short. She's feisty. Lol. And George attending first time in 17 years to give her the award. I don't pay attention to award shows normally, or Adele. So was new to me.

Thank you for this post!! I remember watching it on TV when I was in the UK in 2003.
The thrill of seeing George suddenly on the screen!!!

George Michael singing "Faith" with re-adapted lyrics against the war in Iraq - Brits 2003

Ms Dynamite was the big star of the Brits awards that year.
And at that time George showed how sensitive, brave and knowledgeable he was, by voicing his concerns about the Iraq war.
This is when he dueted with Ms Dynamite for a specially-adapted version of "Faith" referring to this issue.

Ms Dynamite sang "Faith" on stage at the Brits, while George appeared on a video (his part had been prerecorded). It's a brilliant duet!!

I had been looking for this performance on youtube but I couldn't find it.
After your post I checked again and I found it on another site. As I cannot post the link, I am just telling you that you can simply google the names of George and Ms Dynamite together and you'll get the video.
Watch it!!! It is worth it!!!!

Also, for more information, here is an article from BBC about George and Ms Dynamite's collaboration:

Anti-war duet to steal Brits limelight
