This was a much more fitting tribute . Felt so right to have his old friends up there remembering him . Very good video clips and liked the duet part they did. Chris Martin is not a great voice but put it over adequately . That is a song that most couldn't touch , the notes George hit in it!! He was loved , indeed and he's missed .

I certainly would prefer watching Elton for this tribute.

But GM was a fan of Coldplay, they were in all his Spotify listening mixes. Chris Martin is a great lyricist.

Besides, I am glad it was Chris and not Robbie Williams.

I suggest anyone who's yet to see the Brits tribute have a large hanky at the ready. So moving.

I LOVED this tribute to GM at the Brit awards. Everything, from the spoken words of Andrew, Pepsi and Shirley to Chris Martins performance was beautiful. Loved the carefully chosen footage of GM in the background, with him joining in. The orchestra, the lighting... it was everything it should have been IMO. Well done Brits!

The Brits Tribute was just as touching and respectful as I hoped it would be.

Andy, Shirley, Pepsi and their personal and loving speech.

Chris Martin having a go with Different Corner (one of my favourites), and I like Coldplay very much, but of course Chris M. can never sing like George could, I’m sure that Chris himself will be the first in line to admit that still I think he did it brilliantly last night, the duet nailed it.

I think it’s great that some of the greatest and most famous English Artists right now have performed tributes to George – thank you Adele and Coldplay!

But OMG it’s still SO unreal, George is not here anymore, must admit I cried along with Shirley

Unhappy

When Pepsis started to loose her voice.. when Shirley startet to nearly cry..
Andrew brought me back...

Chris oh no... I felt pain in my ears listening to his not striking the right note.. and then Georges voice ... ... for a a second I really thought "He is back!" .... Yeah I realized I still didn't got it. I still wanna more believe that his death is a black british humor ... a fake ... a joke, but then Chris sang along like a fan like we all did on the concerts and then the memory .... ...
I couldn't watch on...

I loved the Tribute especially dear George's loyal best friends ex Wham members giving such a heartfelt tribute with beautiful words. Loyalty was so important to GM and this is why I take with a pinch of salt reports that he planned to build bridges with Andros in new year.

It is mutual respect. Coldplay covered Last Christmas in their early years. Chris had paid tributes to George several times after his death including singing Last Christmas in a homeless shelter, a piano version of Wake Me Up Before You Go Go (last week) and Faith in a concert.

Hi, I'm an Italian fiftysomething lady and I'm new here. I sadly "discovered" only after his death that the so-called "pop idol" George Michael was the wonderful, deep, intense, sensitive solo singer-songwriter that he actually was.

I loved the Brits tribute from Andrew, Pepsi and Shirlie so much. Here is George's godson Roman Kemp interviewing the three of them afterwards:

As for Chris Martin ... well, surely his voice hasn't got the range it needed for that particular song but his cover of A Different Corner was so clearly heartfelt, so I found it quite moving anyway.

Above all, both tributes (Adele's at the Grammy Awards and Chris Martin's at the Brits) have been carried by artists he truly loved, with the background of beautiful and meaningful visuals (carefully chosen in both occasions by David Austin, as I can gather from here: https://twitter.com/david__austin/st...37490900746240).

I thought the subtle nod to Prince in the backing video was very nice.

I liked the moment where George says "hi mom" to his mom in the audience. It was like they both together now.

I don't understand the point of Fadi's tweet. What does his love for George have to do with the Brits???

I definitely enjoyed the Brits tribute moreso than the Adele tribute at the Grammys. This was more upbeat whereas Adele's was quite gloomy. A celebration vs a funeral.
