Default The Album That Never Happened

As you may be aware, George was meant to be working on an album in the electronic music style demonstrated in the True Faith, Song to the Siren covers and White Light. It was originally meant to be released in 2012 but as of December 2016 we're still waiting.

I'm hoping that George left enough material behind for a producer to step in and put an album together. I think the best person for the job is David Austin who knew and worked with George for years with possibly a bit of input from some of the people who remixed George's work over the years. David Austin and Shep Pettibone would be the absolute dream team.

What do you guys think about this? And please feel free to share any information you might have on the subject.

Great topic, I had been thinking about this too. Austin would not be suited for an electronic album, he is more pop perhaps? Perhaps DJ Sasha or Faithless would have been my picks. The song Precious Box on Patience sounds very Faithless and we know they were friends. I hope we see some releases finally of his works over the last decade, there will be some hidden gems.

Default George Michael Album

George Michael was one of my favorite Pop stars in music history. Very unfortunate that he has passed away at an early age. Anyhow in order to honor his memories I have bought a BSA jacket from Sky-Seller. All the fans can also check out

Unhappy

@topic:
they can bring out what they want now..
Yet I can't listen to GM - only "Move on" once, so ... no need for such "new" stuff right now.
If all the money goes to charity, I would try to buy it.

He's not even in a grave and you wanna talk about this....

We all deal with loss in different ways. My way is listening to his post-2010 singles and thinking about any unreleased material that could be salvaged. It makes me feel more in control.

I don't expect anything to happen in the short term but it's something to hope for in the future.

There is no future with George Michael. He's gone and never comes back.
No need for selling "new" stuff now.
In a year or at his "birthday" for charity as a tribute, ok. We all know how 'perfect' he always tried to be. To bring s.th. out now would only mean money making - no tribute.
I hate the music industry in this case - respectless.
If the people wanna buy now - there are enough cds and downloads on the market.
"New" material only would let most people think of money making.... and me as a fan of wrong taking George Michael as the artist he was.

I'm not 100% sure but wasn't GM contractually obliged to deliver one more album? If so won't Sony have a right to expect that some of his unreleased music will be used for such a project?

Of course no one truly knows what he has left behind, he might have stuff that is literally ready to go but he was just in an unfit state to release it.

Been waiting for new GM music so long, I really hope that they'll release some of the dance songs that George was talking about (before summer 2017)... but I guess time will tell. just a shame that so much of his great music never get released :-(

Another "lost" album is the Duets album that was talked about in the late 00s.

Surely that is sitting somewhere ready to be released?

'People, I'm excited....just finishing a ballad that I think is going to make you think my eighties self has been re-born which I suppose it has in a way '

I don't actually recall this tweet, but another example of music he was working and allegedly had finished. This time a ballad!

Whatever they release from now on will break my heart, that he's not here to perform it himself. Or see how loved he is.

That is what I just can't think about right now. Listening to him is so bittersweet now, but I'm making myself do it as the longer I leave it, the harder it will be I think.
