Oh for heaven's sake can't that man shut up?

He needs to lay low for a year or so. Say nothing. He can go about his business as normal. He knows the situation very well. Men aren't stupid. They know how to get one another to do things, they know how to take advantage of other men. It's their nature. He owes it to George, who probably gave him lots of money. I don't care what George thought of him. George thought and did lots of things that weren't good for him. F's antics look bad. He doesn't need to do that in public.

Quick question for UK residents. How long does it take for a standard funeral to take place after death?
In Ireland, this is done very fast (average is 3 days from death to burial) even if there was an inquest to be held, bodies are rarely held after post mortems for pending inquests... This is usually done post burial (unless theres suspicion / criminal issues which obviously delay things).

Just curious about standard timings & UK procedure around this.

Sheesh, from looking at their UK home page, The National Enquirer are obsessed with declaring this or that celebrity is going to die - every week. I'd be more surprised if they didn't try to concoct a GM story - it's all about selling their crappy magazine.

They seem fixated on killing Cher off, as well. She appears on the front page nearly every week and first said she was dying over a year ago!

Assume we are talking about the same thing. I saw the National Enquirer thing on Sunday here, and immediately turned my head. That tabloid paper is absolutely disgusting.

On a happier note: there is a special commemorative edition by Newsweek of George Michael. I saw it at a supermarket and bought one immediately. There are lots of nice pictures, brief discussions of his albums (Wham and solo), and quotes from fellow musicians after his passing.

Doesn't matter. You should have some respect for someone (whom he claims as a friend) just died. Not add more salacious gossip on top of the heap. George Michael had enough as it was.

In the US, People magazine has also released a special issue.

I was also thinking that Andros and/or his ex are the un-named sources for a lot of these tabloid stories. They have been selling out on George for years, so why stop now? I wonder how much the tabloids pay for a story.

I don’t think this was suicide, I can’t believe that George would do that to his family on Christmas. And I believe he would have left a note behind, at the very least to designate someone to take care of Abby. And I don’t think it is a coincidence that this happened on Christmas.. the only couple of days a year when it is guaranteed that he would be home alone without any staff in the house.

I saw that inquirer thing. I think. The photo from sept altered? They also twisted old things he said in interviews to sound like he'd just said them, right?

Yeah idk how that's legal.

And good question on burial. I've been wondering the same. It seems perhaps they're looking more deeply than they want to say?

I've been thinking the same things, but there are a lot of unknowns when dealing with mental illness and he'd just gone to the dr. Maybe a medicine was upped or a new one tried, or some kind of bad news?

I don't think they'd release a note yet. If they're doing an investigation... or maybe ever.

Or one could've been moved from the scene before police came.. so many what ifs. :/

Yes I see what you mean. Although the pictures are factually correct they are totally out of context designed to grab attention.

Great article:
"It is thoroughly shameful that, in the wake of George Michael’s hugely tragic passing on Christmas Day, the British tabloid media have chosen to publish malicious stories theorising the cause of his death on an almost daily basis. I urge their editors and writers to imagine if this was their son, sibling, nephew, friend or boyfriend, and how they would feel if, in spite of a post mortem that the police confirmed as inconclusive, rumours of drug addiction, alcoholism, depression and suicide were spread for no good reason. Tabloids often argue that stories of this nature are published due to them being “in the public interest”. I hope I can speak for the British public when I state wholeheartedly that we are not interested in this nonsense. We are only interested in celebrating the monumentally brilliant art that George shared with the world."
